An Urban Garden featuring perennial crops, pollinator-friendly herbs, recycled materials
Gooseberries are grape-like native fruits that provide perennial treats for jams, smoothies, and desserts
A Family Farm on The Ohio River
This urban garden is highlighted by pollinator-friendly herbs, repurposed materials, and perennial plants. Material to make the beds was scavenged from an abandoned shop next door, and hugelkulturs were created for sustainable soil health. For the crops, I focused on permaculture favorites to replace more typical annual crops, as well as fruit producing shrubs, leafy greens and root vegetables that produce harvests in each season.
